Top 3 Winter Haircare Tips

When the weather gets cold, it can be helpful to change up your hair care routine to better suit the dropping temperatures. We gathered some of our favorite tips from our founder, Maria McCool, and some other professional stylists to make sure you have all the tips you need to keep your hair strong, healthy, and shiny all season long!

Wash Less Often
As the weather gets colder and the air dries up, it becomes important to space out your washes. We recommend shampooing 1-3 times per week and using a sulfate-free shampoo to keep your hair looking and feeling its best.

Hydrate, Hydrate, Hydrate
A great tip for winter is to switch from styling gels or foams to heavier, cream-based products. These richer formulas can help prevent hair from drying out and ensure your strands remain healthy and hydrated. Deep conditioning once per week with a hair mask can also prevent dryness and breakage.

Don’t Skip Trims
Just like every season of the year, it’s important to maintain a regular trimming schedule. Trimming your hair every four to eight weeks maintains hair health and keep your style looking fresh and polished. As little as half of an inch off the bottom reduces the chances of split ends and breakage.
